Job Objective:

As the Development Administrative Assistant, you will provide administrative support for the Development Office, ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do:



  • Assist with donor and fundraising activities at the direction of the Development Leadership team.
  • Support in inter-departmental collaboration for all fundraising activities (grants, events, marketing, etc.) of the Development Department team.
  • Provide general administrative support for the Development Leadership team.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Development Leadership team.


Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience: Familiarity with non-profits and development preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience which, at the sole discretion of The Salvation Army, provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform in this role, will be considered

Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm within the first 30 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities:



  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
  • High attention to detail


  • Must maintain confidentiality


  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing competing priorities


  • Ability to work in a team environment yet be self-directed

  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
