Student Success and Well-Being Center for Higher Education:

The Center for Higher Education Innovation serves the Division of Student Success & Well-Being (SSWB) at the University of Central Florida through research project management and special program implementation and evaluation. The Center's mission is to facilitate collaborative research designed to improve higher education access, success, and post-completion achievements for all students. It fulfills this mission by facilitating collaboration among campus partners to proactively foster student success and well-being and by partnering with student success leaders and researchers at UCF and across the nation to develop, evaluate, and disseminate innovative research that dismantles institutional barriers.

The Opportunity:

The Student Success and Well-Being Center for Higher Education is currently accepting applications for an Administrative Project Manager I and University Innovation Alliance (UIA) Fellow. Situated in the Division of Student Success and Well-Being and its Center for Higher Education Innovation, this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to transformative projects that enhance student success and well-being while fostering a culture of innovation at one of the nation's leading public research universities.

As the Administrative Project Manager I/UIA Fellow, you will play a pivotal role in advancing UCF's academic and institutional goals in partnership with the Division of Student Success and Well-Being, Center for Higher Education Innovation, and the University Innovation Alliance. You will lead high-impact initiatives that drive innovation, improve outcomes, and strengthen UCF's student success ecosystem. Reporting jointly to the Senior Assistant Vice President for Strategy & Chief of Staff and the Director of the Center for Higher Education Innovation, you will manage projects from conception to completion. Your responsibilities will include planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation, ensuring alignment with UCF's mission to unleash the full potential of UCF Knights.

About the University Innovation Alliance: UCF is a proud founding member of the University Innovation Alliance (UIA), a coalition of leading public research universities dedicated to improving student outcomes, particularly for underserved populations. UIA institutions represent a diverse spectrum of the higher education landscape, collaborating across regions to share strategies and scale innovations that make a meaningful impact.

Position Highlights:

Transformational Work: Lead projects that have a direct and measurable impact on student success and well-being.

Collaboration & Innovation: Engage with a network of UIA institutions and stakeholders to scale innovative practices.

Professional Growth: This position is designed to be a three-year visiting role with the possibility of placement at UCF based on need and upon successful completion.

Visiting positions are based on circumstances, such as funding sources, which control the length of time for which the position is available. Position will be renewable for a period of up to four years.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:


  • Determines and defines project stakeholders, scope, schedule, objectives, and work plan.

  • Predicts resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.

  • Plans and estimates costs based on scope of work and resource requirement.

  • Coordinates and leads project teams, ensuring clear communication and accountability among team members.

  • Identifies obstacles and makes strategic adjustments as necessary.

  • Manages contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.

  • Provides solutions to obstacles that arise during project execution.

  • Provides regular project updates to various stakeholders regarding strategy, adjustments, and progress.


Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:


  • Controls scope of project and keeps team on task with minimal variance from project objectives.

  • Monitors project progress, identifies potential risks, and implements corrective actions as necessary.

  • Reviews project objectives and outcomes with stakeholders to ensure all deliverables have been achieved.

  • Completes all required organizational, contractual, and other types of documentation.

  • Develops and implements evaluation mechanisms to measure project success and impact on student success and well-being metrics.

  • Prepares and presents regular progress reports to internal and external stakeholders.


Innovation:

  • Fosters a culture of innovation by identifying and implementing best practices, emerging technologies, and creative solutions in higher education.

Budget Management:

  • Create and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring efficient resource allocation.

Other Responsibilities:


  • Attend and participate in UIA meetings and events.

  • Complete UIA reporting requirements.

  • Serve as an active and engaged member of the UIA Fellows community


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree or higher.

  • Four or more years of project management experience in student success at a higher education institution.
