DataBank's Campus Director will be responsible for efficient operations and all other aspects of several data centers within a campus.

Responsibilities

DataBank's Campus Director is required to be onsite during core business hours and will:

  • Manage multiple Data Center Managers (DCMs) or Lead Data Center Technicians (DCTs) with responsibilities for the operations and maintenance of facilities, installations and client demands in multiple Data Centers
  • Track key metrics and KPI's of Operations teams tasks and responses
  • Ensure all key facility infrastructure and security monitoring systems are operational
  • Escalate any system, process, or administrative issues across various departments within the organization
  • Track preventative maintenance schedules ensuring equipment remains in proper working condition and Databank meets its commitments to maintain our various Data Center certifications/compliances (SOC, SSAE-18 etc.)
  • Ensure policies and procedures are met and consistent amongst all DCMs as well as all sites
  • Ensuring safety rules and procedures are followed
  • Ensure DataBank property is in safe and operational condition to achieve the best working conditions possible for all employees
  • Ensure security rules and procedures are followed
  • Plan and implement a continual work schedule to maintain staffing levels of data centers
  • Oversee contractor performance and skillset produces the desired outcome
  • Ensure that all DCMs inspect outside contractor/ vendors work upon completion to validate standards of workmanship and safety are met and maintained
  • Track and resolve all 'exceptions' found during PM activities, reporting back to the respective departmental groups of work being completed and forwarding all paperwork to the appropriate individuals for record keeping
  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with customers/clients
  • Providing focus on plans to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction on OpEx PUE, End of Life equipment, system enhancements
  • Manage/evaluate PUE at the facility via the BMS system to ensure facility is operating efficiently
  • Ensure training of all DCTs to understand the functionality of the BMS system so they can react accordingly to any unexpected issue at the site
  • Handle departmental resource planning and budgeting

  • Possess the ability to identify, construct and deploy new policy & procedures

  • Possess the ability to plan and execute on DC operational technical training

  • Be an effective communicator to keep multiple sites and staff working and following standard policy & procedures
  • Confident decision maker and motivator that engender confidence with the technical DC operations staff
  • Demonstrate budget and planning experience
  • Be a confident presenter to client base
  • Manage project completions
  • Manager project closures
  • Manage and maintain Quality Assurance tracking

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience leading managers
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Indepth understanding of all data center components including HVAC, UPS, servers, etc.
  • Data Center background, preferred
