Summary

The Backorder Parts Expeditor is responsible for maintaining and working daily backorder reports. Works closely with counter reps, PSSR's and service departments to prioritize backorders with extended ESD's. Utilizes all resources necessary to expedite delivery of parts.

Essential Functions

  • Backorder BI Reports: Reviews and prioritizes backorders based on order type, date and ESD's. Works with and communicates extended ESD's to Counter Reps, Service Supervisors and PSSR's to determine priority and escalation needs.
  • CAT Backorders (CBO's): Opens case in Parts Viz and works with Caterpillar Analyst to begin escalation process and establish an ESD or improve ESD from factory.
  • Extended ESD's: Is proactive in utilizes all resources and solutions to improve extended ESD's

    • Alternate parts, kits, groups
    • New/Used machine take-off
  • Held for PO: Reviews and communicates held for PO documents to Parts Counter Reps.
  • Held and in Process: Monitors and communicates held and in process documents to Parts Counter Reps.
  • Customer Backorder Maintenance: Monitors and communicates with parts counter team to ensure grief (*01) and backorders are processed daily.
  • Emergency Backorder Part Review: Supports I/C team in reviewing emergency backorders over set dollar amount to determine customer's actual need. Adjusts the need by date and order type (emergency, hot stock, stock) to reflect true need of backordered part.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: 2 + years back-order analyst, counter experience or similar position.
  • Technical Skills: A supply chain acumen, strong understanding of DBS, Parts Viz, ANTARES, BI, Excel and customer/shop order functions.
  • Communications: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.

The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.
