Given this context, the faculty in the Department of History, Politics, and Social Justice invites applications for a nine-month lecturer of History in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education with a start date of August 2025. Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, serving as a faculty advisor, mentoring and coaching students inside and outside the classroom, participating in departmental, College, and university meetings.

We welcome candidates with a background in History or related fields who will work collaboratively across our undergraduate degree programs in History, Justice Studies, and Political Science. The ideal candidate would be able/willing to regularly teach world histories HIS 1300-level courses; U.S. History to 1865 and African American History to 1865.

Special consideration will be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary teaching and research interests that include but are not limited to historical approaches to the study of race, social protest, political activism, and public policy; African or African American cultural, gender, social and economic history; the African Diaspora; Latin American history; historical geography; public history, museum studies, and archive-based research methodology.
