Position Summary
The Sourcing Manager oversees a team responsible for promoting and implementing strategic and tactical sourcing activities and proactively managing assigned commodities and supply base. This role involves constructing RFx documents, negotiating products or services from strategic suppliers, and establishing and maintaining supplier relationships to maximize value for the company, including total cost of ownership. This position is in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary are commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead a team in the development of RFx documents, managing data analysis and contract negotiations, while obtaining and evaluating quotations to drive sourcing strategies and ensure alignment with operational goals for assigned commodities
- Guide the team in identifying opportunities to reduce total costs through new sources, substitutions, improved systems or methods, and other supply chain management techniques such as target costing and negotiations
- Oversee data collection, storage, and analysis processes to maintain data integrity and accessibility, while developing and implementing data management strategies that align with organizational goals and improve decision-making
- Oversee the evaluation of contracts and master service agreements, facilitate negotiations for amendments, and provide support during legal review processes
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement, utilizing data-driven methodologies to enhance processes and drive operational excellence within the team.
- Evaluate alternative proposals to determine the most effective strategies for achieving objectives
- Ensure the team selects suppliers that meet necessary standards for safety, quality, reliability, and pricing for designated services and commodities
- Oversee Supplier Relationship Management, conducting regular audits and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) through quarterly and annual business reviews
- Oversee the maintenance and updating of the Approved Supplier List (ASL) by incorporating input and feedback from operational teams
- Supervise the preparation of periodic reports in accordance with management agreements and timelines
- Establish and enforce immediate reporting protocols for non-conformances, ensuring timely follow-up until issues are resolved
- Delegate additional responsibilities to team members as required

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field
- 3 years of experience in a leadership role
- 5 years of experience in Supply Chain
- Availability to work Monday through Friday with a 9/80 schedule and be on call for weeknights and weekends
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
- Ability to meet deadlines
