Overview: This is a skilled position requiring advanced knowledge of boiler, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical distribution, control system maintenance and operation, plumbing, electricity, carpentry, and painting. The position will minimal supervision and support small and midsize hospitals, critical access hospitals, small inpatient/outpatient facilities, and clinics. The Facility Systems Technician provides the necessary skill to operate, maintain, and repair various electrical/plumbing systems, movable equipment, physical plant equipment, furniture, walls, ceilings, and floors. Utilizes exceptional customer service and communication skills. The purpose of this position is to ensure a safe working environment and support an exceptional Environment of Care for Mercy. Qualifications: Minimum Required Qualifications Education: None Licensure:
Experience: 1 to 3 years commercial experience working with HVAC, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. Certification/Registration: EPA approved Universal Certification for handling Refrigerants (within 12 months of employment) Other Skills and Knowledge:
Preferred Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; 2 or more years of training in a Technical or Vocational School. Licensure: Boiler, HVAC, or Refrigeration. Electrical and/or Plumbing. Experience: 5 or more years working in a facility maintenance position within a healthcare environment Certification/Registration: Prefer training in NFPA 80 regulations for fire door inspection and maintenance. Prefer training in UL standards for fire stopping.
