Capability Engineer

Key Role:

Work with a highly skilled team focused on implementing and operating next generation security solutions for government and commercial clients. Perform hands-on evaluation, implementation, and operation of leading security Cyber defense tools and technologies, apply in-depth defense strategies in large and complex networks to rapidly identify vulnerabilities and threats, prioritize response actions, and develop effective counter-measures. Apply thought leadership in a highly collaborative and innovative work environment to solve complex security challenges. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with IT

  • 1+ years of experience with performing systems administration in Windows, Linux, or VMware environments, including performing basic troubleshooting, installation, or configuration, monitoring system performance or availability, and performing security upgrades

  • Experience with deployment or daily maintenance of Armis and or Axonius enterprise attack surface management software

  • Experience with cybersecurity capabilities, including event detection, asset management, vulnerability management, IoT, OT and medical IoT

  • Experience with performing physical or logical network engineering, including installation and activation of ports and the configuration of switches, LANS, VLANS, and network FW or appliances or network administration services, such as Active Directory, Guests LANS, and domain management

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience setting up virtual lab environments for software deployments

  • Experience with CDM program or other large Federal Cybersecurity contract

  • Experience with integrating Cybersecurity data using enterprise and custom tools data aggregation and analysis tools, including Splunk

  • Knowledge of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, frameworks, federal security authorizations, assessment, and risk management processes for enterprise systems

  • Ability to provide support in an IT operations and maintenance Tier II role, including ticket work information updates, issue response, and remediation

  • Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
