POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Production Planning, Sr. Manager, the Production Planner will be responsible for developing production plans that meet/exceed customer service objectives, delivering finished goods inventories at/below target levels, supporting cost-effectiveness objectives at the manufacturing plants, and meeting other strategic objectives.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Develop the master production schedules and finite scheduling plans for assigned plants/production lines, reviewing daily/weekly/monthly production plans to adjust plans based on changes in customer requirements, material receipt delays, and production capacity requirements to support customer needs Ensures demand does not outstrip capacity.
  • Identifies infeasibilities in production plans based on materials, time, labor, etc. and escalates issues for resolution.
  • Schedule production, including defining work order priorities, releasing work orders, and following up and reconciling production schedules.
  • Consistent communication with plant/copacker on production status. Actively participates in weekly planning meetings for plant/copacker support.
  • Evaluate, analyze, assess and continuously improve production scheduling methods and practices to ensure and enhance results. This includes identifying inventory, throughput, and service level areas of improvement
  • Adjust and determine the use of parameters in the system to achieve the desired results.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in (preferably in Supply Chain) or a related field or commensurate experience
  • Strong computer and desktop application skills
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX, etc.)
  • Significant analytical capabilities

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry a plus
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment a plus
  • Previous experience with a major ERP system
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented, with the ability to multi-task
  • Proven organizational skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.

FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.

OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 - 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.

VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
