Position Overview:

The eClinicalWorks Director of Compliance has responsibility for managing day-to-day operations of eClinicalWorks' Compliance Program. The Director of Compliance's general duties and responsibilities encompass implementing and maintaining eClinicalWorks systems, processes and policies designed to ensure compliance with Federal healthcare program requirements, all applicable laws and regulations and all internal policies, procedures and practices.

Job Functions/Responsibilities:

General

* Implements, and communicates within their team / department / division, the strategic direction established by the executive leadership (c-suite).
* Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations, projects and systems.
* Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization's goals and objectives.
* Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources.
* Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support of our customers and execution of such policies, practices, standards, and security measures.
* Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the executive leadership.
* Maintains knowledge of applicable emerging technologies and trends in the industry and ensure that their department / teams are aligned with the changed landscape.
* Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided within their operational teams as needed.
* Manage relationships with key clients, business associates, vendors and any third-party subsidiaries that work with our organization, wherever applicable.
* Recruits, interviews, hires, trains and promotes staff in the operational teams.
* Oversees the daily workflow of the division /department / Team wherever applicable. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
* Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
* Provide direction, manage, coach/ mentor all employees including but not limited to the leadership within their operational teams.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Compliance

* Support the Compliance Department and eClinicalWorks' Chief Compliance Officer with maintaining the requirements and obligations of eClinicalWorks under its Compliance Program and Compliance Workplan, including core compliance functions such as the disclosure program, training program, compliance with laws reviews, development and maintenance of policies and procedures, and ineligibility screening, among others.
* Advise eClinicalWorks leadership on issues concerning compliance and ethics matters including recommending controls designed to ensure compliance.
* Work collaboratively with eClinicalWorks leadership in compliance and ethics program development and implementation.
* Establish effective working relationships and build credibility within eClinicalWorks to support a culture of ethics and compliance.
* Interface directly with eClinicalWorks employees and serve as a sounding board for their concerns about ethics and compliance matters.
* Independently investigate or supervise the investigation of compliance and ethics concerns about eClinicalWorks that are raised through eClinicalWorks' Disclosure Program.
* Oversee eClinicalWorks' compliance training program to ensure that all employees and contractors within eClinicalWorks are knowledgeable of Federal healthcare program requirements and the requirements of the eClinicalWorks compliance program.
* Ensure distribution of compliance and ethics policies and procedures and the eClinicalWorks Code of Conduct.
* Coordinate with eClinicalWorks counsel to facilitate communication between the Compliance Department and Legal Department on legal compliance matters.
* Identify eClinicalWorks risk areas and assist in developing auditing, monitoring and oversight processes related to identified risks.
* Oversee the implementation of corrective actions and monitoring in response to identified issues and audits.
* Develop monitoring systems and processes for compliance and ethics issues.
* Implement policies and procedures that encourage employees, leadership and contractors to report suspected fraud or other improprieties without the fear of retaliation.
* Work collaboratively with eClinicalWorks personnel to resolve all compliance issues identified.
* Periodically report on ethics and compliance matters to the Compliance and Quality Assurance Committee.
* Implement and maintain eClinicalWorks' compliance work plan, associated work plans and initiatives and systems to prevent compliance issues from arising within the Company.
* Report to eClinicalWorks management on compliance matters on a routine basis.
* Act as a consultative resource on compliance and ethics matters.

Experience/Education Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree or Law Degree preferred

* At least five years of industry-related experience

* Five years of experience in healthcare compliance matters

* The successful candidate will be recognized for demonstrated knowledge in compliance process improvement and the requirements of Federal healthcare programs

Other Skills/Abilities

* Audit experience strongly preferred
* Experience in EHR industry preferred
* Must be reliable and capable of working with minimal supervision to manage audit planning and execution, and follow-up activities
* Must be compliance oriented and firmly adhere to the principles of the regulations and standards
* Organized with attention to detail
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
