The Marcus Corporation is seeking an HR and Events Coordinator to join our dynamic corporate team. What you will be doing:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the corporate HR department, offering timely and professional responses to inquiries.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, demonstrating enthusiasm and care in all interactions with associates, whether by phone, in person, or through written correspondence.
  • Respond to inquiries and coordinate follow-ups with the appropriate personnel and departmental resources when necessary.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the execution of multiple associate relations events and programs designed to foster a positive work environment and culture.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation for corporate office associates
  • Support key HR processes such as performance review administration, benefits administration, government reports and filings (e.g., EEO-1, OSHA logs), unemployment compensation processing, and more.
  • Manage billing and invoicing for various vendors, including data coordination and Excel-based processing.
  • Perform data entry for HR systems, including processing new hires, job changes, terminations, PTO data, training records, and other relevant information.
  • Generate and manage multiple reports using Excel, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department as assigned to include processing incoming mail, photocopying, scanning, emailing documents, managing office supply inventory, scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, PCard processing, etc.
  • Maintain and organize personnel files, preparing new associate files and processing documents for terminated associates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to overseeing organization of HR office and storeroom, participating on various committees and/or projects and providing daily to weekly coverage as needed for the corporate receptionist role.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in administrative support or event planning is preferred.
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service, including organizing enjoyable associate events and activities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills are a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with associates at all levels and represent the HR department professionally.
  • Ability to quickly learn and master HR systems; experience with PeopleSoft is a plus.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold high ethical standards when handling sensitive data.
  • Occasional local travel may be required for tasks such as picking up supplies.
  • Ability to work in the office 5 days per week.

Salary Estimate: $48,000 - $58,000 per year.
