Great opportunity to leverage your expertise across both scheduling and planning! In this role, you are a direct link to meeting our customers needs by analyzing demand, managing inventory of raw materials and planning, creating, and monitoring production schedules that make the most efficient use of these resources. Flexibility and adaptability to operational needs and changes will be key in this role. In addition, the ability to seek clarity on customer needs, timelines, and expectations will be essential.

Position Description:



  • Plans, creates and monitors the facility's production schedules. Evaluates and determine purchase quantities and timing.
  • Analyzing demand, frequency, and historical supplier issues to determine appropriate safety stock levels for raw materials.
  • Places purchase orders and blanket orders for raw materials. Updates orders and prepares release for JIT (Just in Time) shipments.
  • Performs systems maintenance including routings, item branch parameters, JD Edwards and Logility.
  • Analyze production requirements against available capacity, prioritize workloads, and create firm work orders, creating a production schedule that optimizes operating efficiencies, customer service, and finished goods inventories
  • Determines best sequencing or manufacturing line for specific item production. Prioritizes item production when all orders cannot be met.
  • Prepare and format planning and scheduling data and communicate through daily and weekly meetings.
  • Evaluate and analyze shortage reports for finished goods and raw materials and take appropriate action related to scheduling as needed.
  • Inventory management of raw materials including review of SLOBS (slow and obsolete items).
  • Communicates with Sourcing, Suppliers, Trucking Companies, and others regarding raw materials.



Position Requirements: We are hiring for either a Planner/Scheduler I or a Planner/ Scheduler II. Please see the requirements for both positions below.

Planner/ Scheduler I



  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain or business management plus 1 year of experience that would demonstrate understanding of manufacturing process and conversion of raw materials to finished product. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Planning/ scheduling experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • ERP/ JD Edwards system experience strongly desired.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized and prioritize work activities.


Planner/ Scheduler II



  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain or business management plus 2 years of planning/scheduling or forecasting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. If Bachelor's degree in supply chain is not obtained, Supply Chain certification is required within 2 years of role assignment.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Enterprise Resource Planning software required.
  • Demonstrated competencies in:

    • Problem Solving - Ability to define, analyze, & diagnose key components of a problem to formulate a solution.
    • Work Organization -Ability to approach work in an orderly manner prioritizing tasks & managing time effectively.
    • Relationship Management - Ability to develop & maintain positive relationships with the individuals inside & outside assigned workgroup.
    • Adaptability - Ability to adapt to changing situations & restructure tasks & priorities as changes occur within the business & organization.
    • Customer Service/Focus - Ability to recognize, understand, meet &/or exceed customer needs & expectations.


  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Enterprise Resource Planning software required.
