Job Description Summary

The Scientific Data and Products (SDP) group in NX builds and applies excellence in product and data management to continuously improve the impact and value of software and data to NIBR. We deliver intuitive, intentional, and integrated software solutions that create a frictionless user experience.

As Product Line Operations Manager in SDP, you will lead, develop, and mentor a group of experienced Product Operations Managers associated with a Product Line. In co-leadership with the Product Line Manager and Engineering manager for your product line, and in collaboration with your team and other key stakeholders, you will increase the value defined by the strategic mandate of your Product Line.

Working as a team with other Product Line Operations Managers and the Director Product Operations, you will be a key contributor to a shared vision for Product Operations as one of the three critical pillars in the Product matrix and evolve the strategy, framework, and product operating model for Product Operations. You will effect positive change and be a role model for the product matrix. You will balance long and short-term goals as well as NVS, BR, and NX priorities.

Your accountabilities include:

  • Establishing and optimizing operational metrics and trends at a product line level that leads to reduced operational overhead and cost while maintaining existing value for BR.
  • Ensuring secure, compliant, robust, and cost-effective operations across the Product Line.
  • Attracting, managing, and growing top talent as a coach, mentor, and role model.
  • Defining and implementing operational excellence for a group of globally deployed, high-impact scientific software products essential for BR.
  • Helping your Product Line to effectively prioritize product roadmaps and resources, measure product success, and assess value delivery.
  • Providing the strategic context necessary for your Product Line to effectively prioritize operational activities, establish stable product operations, and meet all security, stability, usability, performance, and sustainability requirements.
  • Sustaining and improving the value created by existing capabilities in your Product Line by supporting and holding your team members accountable for sustaining and improving the value of their Products through continuously optimized operations.
  • Ensuring adherence to security, quality and regulatory compliance (e.g. GLP & GCP) standards and policies.

  • Domain expertise in the drug discovery industry in the capability space covered by your Product Line.
  • The ability to lead effectively in a co-leadership model inside of a matrix organization, and to collaboratively develop and promote a shared vision.

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $166,400 and $249,600 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Salary Range

$152,600.00 - $283,400.00
