Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity available for a Engineer, Systems/Network. The Systems/Network Engineer has the responsibility to implement and support Sysmex IT products and networked systems. The position is responsible for the configuration of hardware, network (LAN, WAN) and third party software; the installation of operating systems and application software; and the installation and support of hardware, operating system, and databases. The Systems/Network Engineer is responsible for the system administration and operating systems. Design, develop, and implement the operating environment for like technologies; support and maintenance of operating systems in the existing network base; and research and development on new processes and procedures for best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Responsible for supporting, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading corporate servers and networks.
  1. Deploy, manage, and support multi-domain Windows environment (2008/2012/2016/2019).
  2. Responsible for proactive monitoring and management of all infrastructure systems, including Networking, Servers, Storage, Virtualization, Azure, AWS and O365.
  3. Evaluate existing and emerging technologies to consider factors such as security, compatibility, and usability.
  4. Handle daily operations and escalated issues from IT Help Desk.
  5. Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  6. Ability to analyze network systems, configure firewall, network routing protocols, VPN configuration.
  7. Ensure network security, connectivity and monitor network performance.
  8. Provide on-call and\or after hours support as needed, Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Percentage of Travel: 20%

Physical Demands: Light physical effort. Routine handling of objects up to 20 pounds; prolonged (at least 50% of time) sitting, standing, keyboard or CRT work. May require periods of moderate discomfort due to noise, dust, lighting and/or other conditions.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science required. 5-10 years of previous experience as a system and network administrator required/desired. Master's degree with a specialization in preferred.
  • Certificates will be considered as a plus:
    - MCSE - Microsoft Certified Engineer.
    - CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), Load Balancer (F5), VPN and LAN Network implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Windows Server technologies.
  • Knowledge on AWS and Azure Cloud will be plus.
  • Strong Technical Knowledge in DNS, PowerShell Script, VLANs, MS Intune, AWS S3, EC2, RDS, RADIUS Authentication, Routing protocols, Commvault Backup, Microsoft Azure and VMware virtualization.
  • ServiceNow, Tenable, N-Able RMM and Must have on-call availability.
