What The Role Is

This position will be responsible for investigating and reporting fraudulent activity within consumer and business accounts. The position works closely with various lines of business to complete thorough investigations to mitigate fraudulent activity/loss to the bank and attempt to recover funds, in the event of a loss.

How You Will Make An Impact

* Complete detailed multi-page narratives of investigation findings, refer to BSA if necessary and review all cases for completeness and accuracy
* Ensure compliance with approved policies and procedures related to the Fraud Investigations Unit, including case documentation and completeness of investigation
* Build and maintain awareness of the various types of fraud and risks affecting the bank (e.g., financial, legal, reputation, etc.).
* Assists in training of various lines of business, as needed
* Investigate complex cases involving employees using proper discretion and level of professionalism.
* Partner with all lines of business and law enforcement (as required) for assistance in investigations, prosecution and recovery of funds.
* Make recommendations for closing customer accounts/relationships based on investigation
* Act as team leader to other team members
* Reports directly to the Fraud Investigations Manager

Who You Are

* College degree or equivalent work experience
* Three years work experience in banking or other financial related industry
* Working knowledge of Fraud and Loss Prevention

Required Skills:

* Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
* Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
* Strong word processing and spreadsheet skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous BSA/AML, fraud, loss prevention or other financial investigative experience
* Bachelor's degree
* CFE (preferred) or other comparable certification

Characteristics

* Regular and reliable attendance.
* Works cooperatively with others.

*Remote within Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas.
