POSITION SUMMARY The Production Launch Manager is primarily responsible for collaborating with various members of the Manufacturing and Engineering teams to develop and execute manufacturing readiness plans. This position will ensure that critical contracts according to customer expectations, technology, order size and complexity are properly planned to achieve first-time quality and on-time delivery. WHAT YOU WILL DO: * Work with BIDs, Vehicle Application Engineering, Lead Project Engineers, and Customer Program Management to compile unique contract requirements and specials prior to production start. * Manage and maintain a comprehensive project issues list and drive full implementation of each issue. * Lead the manufacturing readiness processes (MRA or PDP), including identifying, involving, and motivating cross functions members to execute all pre-production activities. * Conduct virtual design reviews with Manufacturing concurrent to the design process. * Identify and document design errors through NFI SWATs or project issues logs for correction. * Identify and coordinate with Engineering, QA, or suppliers to establish special processes for new designs. * Conduct workload and assembly process reviews of installations subject to Canadian and United States splits. * Responsible for reviewing and providing direction to Process Planning and Manufacturing Engineering to establish routings for new installations. * Verify routings for existing installations meet the latest expectations from Production. * Facilitate launch team meetings in each assembly station during the first pilot build and post issues on traveling visibility board. * Aid in identifying design errors for correction through design reviews during pilot and lead bus production. * Identify and repair systems or processes that are dysfunctional, opaque or threaten the successful completion of project timeline, quality, or budget. * Drive an ongoing effort to create and evolve process capability rather than inspection. * Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) to ensure the voice of manufacturing is considered when making design or supplier changes. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: * University degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. * 5+ years in a Production or Automotive Design related function. * Highly proficient with MS Excel, Team Center, and Oracle EBS. * Motivated self-starter who seeks out improvements, with strong time management and organizational skills. * Exceptional communication skills at all levels of the organization with the ability to influence others. * Knowledge of MS Project, MS Access, SQL, and Power Bi would be considered a strong asset.
