General Summary of Position Leads development and maintenance of routine internal reporting, analytics and analytic models. Collaborates across the Finance organization to deliver strategic and financial insights and for maintaining data, analytics, predictive models and reporting to support the ongoing insight generation and ad hoc inquiries. Implements and trains others on standard processes and provides ad hoc financial analysis in support of ongoing financial and operational support to the organization. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies and maintains key data elements, reports, and analytical models to derive business insights related to monthly close analysis, capital allocation, strategic planning initiatives, and other environmental or industry factors. Resolves gaps to enable seamless reporting across the MedStar system.Supports the reporting development process, including prioritization, selection of reporting tools, ongoing delivery of new reports, and maintenance/enhancement of existing reports. Ensures adherence to documented business rules, SOP, and data definitions for all developed reporting and analytic models.Collaborates with source data owners to drive data element harmonization across the MedStar system. Conducts data audits to ensure source and report data quality. Executes scheduled report publication to ensure end-user availability. Maintains documentation to support data definitions, sources, and required audits.Assists in resolving system-wide reporting issues in conjunction with technical teams, ensuring optimal report delivery across user groups, including the finance organization, executive leadership, and department leaders. Supports the development, training, and distribution of reports and analytical tools.Manages advanced analytics tools used by the Fiscal Services team. Manages the intake process for analytics needs related to Finance data identified across the enterprise. Develops and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) and resolves any errant calculations that arise. Analyzes trends and gathers insights from large, disparate data warehouses. Identifies opportunities to improve the collection, management, and reporting of the organization's Finance data and leads initiatives to improve data quality and integrity to support decision-making.Selects, trains, orients, and assigns department staff. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and conducts performance management planning. Initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions. Maintains ongoing communication with subordinates to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information.Participates in annual Per-Visit Clinical market review in collaboration with Executive Leadership, HR, Compensation, and Payroll. Prepares analysis and impacts reporting under various scenarios, to ensure market increases fall within budgeted guidelines. Prepares market rate, adjustment files and works with MedStar Payroll to coordinate implementation.Responsible for financial period close function. Reviews month end reporting and analysis prepared by Finance Team.Works in collaboration with Finance Team, CFO and Executive Leadership to prepare and present annual forecasts and budgets, including write-ups, crosswalks, and other analysis.
Minimum Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's degree Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related field required and
- Master's degree Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related field preferred
Experience
- 5-7 years Experience in analytics, reporting, data governance, or a related field required and
- Experience in financial analysis, business intelligence, and decision support. required
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
