Digital Strategy, Data Analyst

This Communications position reports to the Associate Director, project management, data strategy, and production, and it is based in the Washington, DC, office. The senior associate will participate in Pew's core in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will have flexibility to work from home the remainder of the week.

Position Overview

The Senior Associate, Digital Strategy Data Analyst, is responsible for analyzing and interpreting digital analytics across Pew's channels. This role emphasizes technical skills in SQL, Python, DBT, and R, along with expertise in analytics tools, to provide actionable insights for Pew's digital strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Data Management: Import, transform, and process large datasets to ensure data accuracy and consistency across sources.
  • Dashboard Development: Build and maintain dashboards for monitoring performance across Pew's digital platforms.
  • Personalization Initiatives: Use data to support website and email personalization, driving tailored user experiences in digital campaigns.
  • Optimization: Analyze website, email, and social media data to improve search engine optimization (SEO) and guide content strategies.
  • Collaboration: Partner with colleagues to evaluate content performance, execute A/B testing, and align reporting efforts across teams.
  • Reporting and Insights:
    • Deliver analytical reports with actionable recommendations for content and audience engagement.
    • Present insights to stakeholders at all levels, including data trends, testing results, and best practices.
  • Statistical Analysis: Apply statistical methods to improve data quality and extract meaningful patterns.
  • Education and Training: Share analytics trends and lessons learned to enhance team knowledge of effective communication strategies.
  • Benchmarking: Establish performance benchmarks for Pew's websites and digital channels.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, marketing, or a related field.
  • Generally, four years of experience in analytics roles, with proven technical expertise in:
    • SQL for data manipulation and reporting.
    • Python or R for advanced analytics and automation.
    • DBT or similar data transformation tools.
  • Tool Proficiency:
    • Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Facebook Insights.
    • Business intelligence and data visualization platforms.
    • Tag management and data management platforms.
  • Marketing Analytics: Strong understanding of measurement frameworks for content marketing, SEO, cross-channel advertising, and email marketing.
  • Preferred Skills: Analytical programming for predictive analytics, modeling, and forecasting.
  • Communication:
    • Ability to explain complex findings to non-technical audiences.
    • Experience presenting data insights to varied stakeholders is a plus.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Salary Range

$84,300 USD - $94,200 USD

The salary range represents a reasonable estimate of the annual salary based on Pew's commitment to provide equitable and market-competitive pay. The actual salary offered will take into consideration many factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills and experience, internal pay equity, and business need.
