BH VP - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Responsibilities

The VP Business Development obtains new business partnerships for company with acute care hospitals and sells new products and services.

  • To successfully develop and obtain new business partnerships with acute-care hospitals.
  • To pursue activities which will increase lead generation.
  • To make appointments and present proposals to hospitals listed on the VPD's Sales Funnel.
  • To complete all sales reports requested by Chief Development Officer.
  • To perform "cold calls" by telephone and in person to prospective clients.
  • To assist in negotiation of contracts with prospective clients.
  • To attend appropriate industry trade shows.
  • To provide input into the company's sales strategy.
  • To work in concert with Operations, Clinical Staff, Strategic Analysis, and other Development staff as appropriate.
  • To develop and maintain excellent relationships with outside consultants, underwriters, accounting firms, construction and architectural personnel in the healthcare field.
  • To take an active interest in current events as they relate to our segment of the healthcare industry.
  • To prepare financial analyses for both prospective client hospital and company which analyze the economic parameters of the proposed contractual relationship between the hospital and Horizon.
  • To prepare high-quality written documents (e.g., proposals, PowerPoint presentations, correspondence, financial pro formas, etc.,) that expedite and enhance the sales process.
  • To utilize a number of computer programs, (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SalesForce.com) that expedite and enhance the sales process.
  • To perform other related duties as assigned.

Travel

Considerable; up to 75% as needed to fulfill duties

Qualifications

Job Specifications:

Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's Degree in business or health related field preferred
  • Minimum five years of successful healthcare sales experience involving services or capital equipment to senior hospital administrators
  • Prior sales experience
  • Prior marketing experience

  • Proficient in applicable software applications, including Microsoft Office

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Comfortable working in confined or crowded areas
  • Comfortable working alone or in a team environment

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend complicated clinical instructions and correspondence
  • Proficient in grammar and spelling as it relates to duties
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to hospital leaders, employees, co-workers, supervisor(s), etc.
