Data Subject Matter Expert

The Opportunity:

You will support the client as a T-MSIS subject matter expert (SME). You'll assist in improving the quality of State-submitted data our client programs, monitorthis data through public reports or other means, and analyze trends in areas, such as behavioral health, long-term care, and prenatal and postpartum care.

The role includes supporting in policy decisions, program administration, expenditure integrity, data quality measures, and innovation models. You'll interact with stakeholders, constituents, and the research community regardingT-MSIS data and T-MSIS Analytic Files (TAF) Research Identifiable Files (RIF).This position is ideal for a T-MSIS SME aiming to improve data-driven programs

On our team, you'll use your leadership skills and data science expertise to create real-world impact. You'll work closely with clients to understand their questions and needs, and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You'll use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into objective answers to advise your clients as they make informed decisions. Ultimately, you'll provide a deep understanding of T-MSIS data, what it all means, and how it can be used.

You'll identifyand help advance new business opportunities for Government clients by applying T-MSIS data expertiseand policy knowledge throughout the business development life cycle, from opportunity qualification to strategic capture and proposal development. You'll leverageleadership skills and extensive community relationships within the healthcare industry and government clients. The role involves participatingin technical bids, understanding client requirementsand buying patterns, and developing differentiated solutions for successful bids. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience working with data

  • Experience examining the completeness and accuracy of state-submitted T-MSIS data

  • Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing automated data quality reporting tools that can be shared with a broader data user community

  • Experience with T-MSIS Analytic Files (TAF)

  • Experience submittingsystem change requests to align T-MSIS system with TAF requirements

  • Knowledge of Federal and State Medicaid and CHIP programs, particularly with data submission requirements

  • Knowledge of the T-MSIS dataset

  • Knowledge of T-MSIS file layouts, business validation rules, data quality measures, TAF file formats and maintainingdata dictionaries

  • Public Trust

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Data Science, or Statistics

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with Databricks and Snowflake technologies

  • Experience providing external facing technical assistanceto improve data quality, including communicating large-scale issues and guidance via webinars

  • Experience with the federal procurement and proposal process

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
