Position Summary:

The Factory Manufacturing Excellence Manager is responsible for developing, aligning, and executing a comprehensive performance improvement strategy throughout the entire factory. This pivotal role serves as the primary point of expertise and contact for Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) initiatives within the factory. Reporting directly to the Factory Manager and collaborating closely with TPM Regional Managers, the role is accountable for NCE Implementation Strategy, Nestle Pillar activities, and Industrial Performance responsibilities within the factory.

Key Responsibity:

  • Co-develop a Factory improvement strategy that takes into account:
    • Business priorities
    • Loss Analysis / External Benchmarks
    • Three-year planned progression of KPIs, People, and workplace transformation (Factory Vision)
  • Gain alignment from the Factory Leadership Team and Key Stakeholders regarding the three-year plan and cascade it across all factory levels through a communication strategy.
  • Partner with the Factory Leadership Team and Local Leadership Teams to translate the factory improvement strategy into Implementation Plans that will deliver the expected results. This includes:
    • NCE rollout plans
    • Digital Road Map
    • Key improvement projects
    • Important competency building activities
    • External benchmarking and support requirements
  • Support the execution of the improvement plan by:
    • Ensuring proper governance and routines at the Factory and Local leadership levels to track execution progression and ensure sustainability of improvements
    • Spending time on the factory floor to evaluate maturity progression and identify key opportunities
    • Providing guidance and feedback to leadership and aligning on corrective actions to adjust execution plans
    • Developing the Factory Leadership Team and Pillar Owners' ability to identify opportunities for workplace, people, and behavioral transformation through GEMBA visits
    • Partnering with HR / Education & Training to establish and evaluate the robustness of function/pillar capability plans
    • Training and coaching the Factory Leadership Team, Pillar Owners, and System Owners on necessary system competences based on development needs, and escalating for external support as needed
  • Responsible for the development, competence building, and health of Industrial Performance systems and routines, including Labor utilization studies, data reliability, SAP BOM/Master Data, planning rate reviews, Asset Intensity systems, St 21-908, Capacity Utilization, etc.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred, or significant proven experience in Continuous Improvement within a manufacturing/production environment will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Food or CPG experience is preferred
  • 8-10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or continuous improvement environment is required, which includes:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of direct production/maintenance floor experience
    • Experience working with factory management/leadership team
    • Success in leading and developing cross-functional teams
    • 2-3 years of experience in project management, loss intelligence, and advanced problem-solving
    • Minimum of 2-3 years in Goal Alignment/TPM/Lean implementation

SKILLS:

  • Strong knowledge of digital tools, including Power BI, MES Systems, SAP, and other visualization tools/data analytics (experience preferred)
  • Strong leadership in cultural change management and managing multiple complex priorities and business connections
  • Ability to understand/learn new manufacturing processes and quickly identify their challenges and areas of opportunity
  • Experience in developing line labor standards, budget preparation/review, and line capability/speed studies
  • Advanced knowledge of TPM
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Solid understanding of Change Management
  • Demonstrated track record and competence in TPM and Lean and/or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies and implementation
  • Cultural change agent working with hourly operators and senior stakeholders
  • Project management capabilities
