Description
Job Title: Software Engineer The demand for high-value environmental data and information has dramatically increased in recent years. NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) was established to improve NOAA's ability to meet that demand by hosting and providing access to one of the most significant archives on earth, with comprehensive oceanic, atmospheric, and geophysical data, products, and services. From the depths of the ocean to the surface of the sun and from million-year-old sediment records to near real-time satellite images, NCEI is the Nation's leading authority for historical environmental information. The NCEI Data Stewardship Division (DSD) works with NOAA and the broader community to provide and maintain the core tools, systems, services, policies, and procedures that enable long-term information preservation, dissemination, and service delivery in a cost-effective, efficient, and reliable manner. This position is for a Software Engineer to support an Agile Team within the Software Development Branch. This Agile Team in this DSD Branch focuses on maintenance and sustainment of the NCEI enterprise archive systems. Key Responsibilities:

Salary and Benefit Information: The likely salary range for this position is $77,715 - $89,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
