The Associate Director, Professional Development (PD) Strategy & Delivery is a leadership role within Amplify, reporting to the Regional Lead of Professional Development. This role is responsible for leading a regionalized team of Lead Professional Learning Specialists (Lead PLSs) and PD Strategists who specialize in Amplify's Literacy & STEM Products. Lead PLSs are tasked with delivering high-quality professional development training sessions for our school and district partners as well as coaching a regional cohort of PLSs so that they are prepared to do the same. PD Strategists build, and iterate on, comprehensive PD plans in partnership with district partners, assisting the district with change leadership and will be the point of contact for PD implementation support. The Associate Director will guide the team to ensure that successful training sessions are being delivered; will document and monitor performance metrics for their PLS reports; and provide interventional support as needed. As an Associate Director, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of customer-facing employees and help to guide the professional development experience for our customers.

In addition to leading PD delivery, Associate Directors of PD Strategy & Delivery will also support a select number of our larger district partners with implementations of core, supplemental, and assessment programming including: developing a multi-year, district-wide professional development strategy, guiding district leaders on key pedagogical questions and change management considerations, and conducting district-wide program reviews. The goal will be to ensure continuity of instructional implementation as best as possible with Amplify's existing largest district partners.

Location: Regional and national travel required.

Lead, manage and cultivate a team:

  • Directly lead a team of regionalized Lead Professional Learning Specialists (Lead PLSs), PD Strategists and track PD plans and delivery across this team

  • Orchestrate recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new PLSs and PD Strategists

  • Support PLSs in situations where they need assistance with identifying and/or implementing the appropriate actions to deliver an excellent training session, attending training sessions as needed; support PLSs in situations with larger, more strategic accounts to guarantee quality delivery

  • Support PD Strategists in situations where they need assistance with developing PD plans for large districts; support in the creation of RFPs and other account services as needed

  • Provide regular and customized training and coaching for all Professional Learning Specialists and PD Strategists including onboarding of new team members

  • Monitor performance against key customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and intervene as necessary

  • Deliver ad hoc service delivery sessions to PLSs that demonstrate outstanding service

  • Establish and implement thoughtful development and performance related practices so that teams in a region experience continuous growth, engagement, and fulfillment

  • Approve PLS timecards and expenses related to session preparation and delivery for regional cohort of PLSs; perform other related administrative management tasks as the need arises

  • Regular travel required; 40-60% during summer delivery season

  • Ad hoc additional role related duties, as designated by the Regional Lead

Account service:
  • Partner with the Regional Lead, Professional Development to ensure alignment with national role strategy given ongoing regional growth

  • Develop professional learning solutions and implementation strategy for districts and schools, and build and maintain a strong understanding of product mix across accounts

  • For assigned accounts, act as the single point of contact for PD-related support post-sale (CSM to support on non-PD related topics)

  • Partner with Regional Lead to build initial PD Plan proposal, refining based on customer feedback; engage on execution

  • Customize training materials for strategic engagements

  • Support Regional Lead on complicated implementations

  • Oversee project management (scoping, budgeting, delivery) of PD engagements

  • Support pre-sales discussion (written proposals/RFPs), act as the primary point of contact for all PD-related questions post-sales

  • Assess impact and effectiveness of training by analyzing feedback from PD participants, PLSs, and internal colleagues. Share feedback with the Content team to help with continuous strengthening of session content in order to ensure high-quality delivery at scale.

Collaboration with internal partners:
  • Responsible for collaborating with other Associate Directors within a region and presenting lessons learned to the Regional Lead; ability to interact with and build relations with senior leadership

  • Raise awareness of high-risk situations appropriately and flag to relevant partners (i.e., inform Regional Lead if district is not staffed appropriately for success)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related work experience

  • 6+ years of strategic account / Professional Development service delivery experience in STEM

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams; ability to engage with and build relations with senior leadership

  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills (for both internal and customer-facing meetings)

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to travel regionally and nationally

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the field of education, school / district leadership, educational publishing / technology

  • Experience with Amplify Literacy and STEM productsSalesforce and Google Suite experience

What we offer:

Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a 401(k) plan, stock options, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $105,000 - $125,000. This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
