Calibration Technician (Saudi Arabia)

DCS Corp has an immediate opening for a Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) Calibration Technician position to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, supporting and serving, as a liaison between Office of the Program Manager - Saudi Arabian National Guard (OPM SANG) and SANG LAV Units. Primary responsibilities include calibration and test using automated test equipment and the SANG LAV platforms in support of operational readiness.

PM LAV is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Calibration and Repair Technician to support training, calibration, and repair of Virtual Instrument Portable Electronic Repair/Tester (VIPER/T) units. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the calibration and repair of VIPER/T units, coordinating with the USMC Albany depot, and ensuring the timely return of calibrated and repaired systems to the customer. The job location will be in Saudi Arabia for up to 11 months out of the year.

Essential Job Functions:

Manage VIPER/T Fielded Systems:

Undergo at least 3 months of VIPER/T operation, calibration and repair training at the USMC Albany depot.

Manage the calibration of 10 VIPER/T units in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), including:

Tracking calibration timelines for each system.

Communicating with the SANG users when calibration is required

Coordinating system delivery by SANG to the calibration lab.

Performing VIPER/T functional checks to identify needed repairs.

Executing VIPER/T calibration and repairs as needed.

Coordinating system return to the SANG personnel.

Coordinate with the USMC Albany depot for repairs that cannot be performed in KSA, including:

Coordinating and shipping broken items to Albany for repair.

Tracking repairs and coordinating return shipment.

Manage spare inventory of VIPER/T units.

Coordinate replenishment of used inventory with the Albany USMC depot.

Support VIPER/T Training:

Execute semi-annual VIPER/T training with SANG user technicians.

Coordinate the training courses with SANG for students, required materials, and training location.

Perform operator training course as outlined by the USMC.

Coordinate with USMC Albany depot training support as required.

Generate a training course report capturing the training outcome and student performance.

Support SANG users with periodic on-the-job training to ensure the equipment is used properly.

Manage VIPER/T Calibration Kit:

Manage the calibration of the VIPER/T calibration kit in KSA.

Track calibration requirements for the VIPER/T calibration kit to ensure the system remains calibrated.

Coordinate with the appropriate calibration lab the calibration of the VIPER/T calibration kit as required.

Package and coordinate the shipment of the calibration kit to the designated laboratory.

Track the calibration progress and coordinate the return shipments.

Set up the calibration kit upon return to SANG to support VIPER/T calibrations.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure timely and accurate calibration and repair of VIPER/T units.

Maintain effective communication with the SANG and USMC Albany depot.

Manage and track inventory of VIPER/T units and spare parts.

Coordinate logistics and shipping of VIPER/T units and spare parts.

Perform functional checks and repairs on VIPER/T units as needed.

Manage the VIPER/T calibration kit.

Conduct VIPER/T operator training for SANG personnel.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must currently possess or have eligibility for a SECRET security clearance.

This position requires a valid regular U.S. Passport.

Associate degree in a related field (e.g., electronics, engineering, or a related technical field) or a High School Diploma with Calibration Experience.

Alternatively, completion of an accredited DoD calibration course plus 7 years of working experience.

Completion of calibration technician school classes covering topics such as metrology, calibration systems, quality systems and standards, and applied math.

Knowledge of military systems, military operations, and defense industry practices is preferred.

Willingness to be stationed in Saudi Arabia for up to 11 months out of the year.

The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions, along with an international driver's permit to operate vehicles.

Must be fully capable of reading and understanding Technical Data Packages.

Must have basic understanding and experience in troubleshooting, and diagnostic methods.

Possess clear written and verbal communication skills.

Possess good interpersonal skills and capable of working independently or as a team.

Possess a high-level of proficiency utilizing Microsoft Applications: Outlook and all Microsoft office products.

Desired Skills:

Cultural sensitivity and experience working in Saudi Arabia is preferred.

Familiarity with Saudi Arabian culture and language is a plus.

Proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.

Position is preferred for expatriates that have worked within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Experience with VIPER/T systems.

Experience working on any variation of the LAV platform and understanding of the combat vehicle layout.

Solid basic understanding of current C4/C5ISR equipment.

Ability to understand and read one-wire diagram, electrical component diagram, mechanical layout diagram.

Experience in using diagnostic and measurement tools such as TMDE, VSWR, Milli-ohm Meter, Voltmeter.

Experience creating or maintaining metrics or other performance reports using Microsoft office or Adobe based products.

Test Equipment Calibration knowledge and defense industry or military experience.
