Service Repair Processor

At KARL STORZ, we're looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Service Repair Processor to join our team. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the performance and reliability of cutting-edge medical camera systems. You'll be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and testing a variety of devices, including CCUs, heads, adapters, and video capture systems.

Hours - Monday - Thursday 6AM PST - 4:30 PM PST or Monday - Friday 6AM PST - 2:30 PM PST

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming inspection, diagnosis, repair, and final test of medical cameras and optical/mechanical devices using standard video test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and replace parts at the sub-assembly level, including PWBs, head cables, power supplies, optical components, DVD drives, and more.
  • Document repairs in SAP, including diagnosis, repair parts list, defect codes, and camera tracking information.
  • Perform SAP transactions for data entry, stock transfers, and spare parts management.
  • Review bills of materials and engineering changes in SAP to identify and implement repair upgrades.
  • Research repair history in SAP to diagnose current issues and suggest product improvements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance product and service quality.
  • Maintain regular attendance.

Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical device quality system regulations (e.g., FDA 21CFR Part 820, ISO13485, ISO9001).
  • Ability to use video test equipment (oscilloscopes, vector scopes, etc.).
  • Basic soldering skills and experience with component-level rework.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues to the sub-assembly level.
  • Good written communication and computer skills (SAP experience is a plus).
  • Ability to follow assembly and rework instructions.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electronics, optical/mechanical assembly, inspection, or final testing.
