How can you make an impact?

McGraw Hill is the leading provider of digital and print educational solutions. Academic Design Supervisors are content and curriculum experts as well as people leaders. They manage and mentor a grade-level team in the development of high-quality content based on specific product requirements for programs and understanding the solution design. They collaborate with the Academic Design Directors, Academic Design Managers, and Product Managers to help develop the solution design (both conceptualization and implementation).

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 12/31/2028.

What you will be doing:

  • Translate product goals into clear, actionable steps for the team, ensuring alignment with the overall product vision and communicating the work's impact on broader objectives.
  • Plan and allocate resources within the team, realigning priorities to meet deadlines and achieve expected outcomes, while adapting to changes in scope or requirements.
  • Track project progress against budgets, identifying and mitigating risks related to budget, quality, and schedule to ensure successful delivery.
  • Develop team members' work skills, recognize their contributions, and foster a learning environment where team members can learn from each other's experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with Managers, other grade-level Supervisors, and cross-functional teams to design prototypes and guidelines that align with market needs, product definitions, learning objectives, and content standards.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of grades 6-8 Reading/Language Arts pedagogy and its application in developing educational content and solutions.
  • Understand and manage the implications of customer and sales deadlines, state curriculum requirements, and budget/resource limitations on workflow and scheduling.
  • Stay up to date on emerging educational trends, curriculum developments, digital technologies, and research in education to continuously improve the product offering and competitive positioning.

What you need to be considered:

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in secondary education, literacy, or a related field; classroom teaching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Bring a minimum of 4 years of experience in literacy curriculum development and educational publishing, with a focus on grades 6-12.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, goal-oriented, and collaborative approach, with experience leading multi-person teams and working cross-functionally while building relationships based on trust, respect, empathy, and psychological safety.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of industry content development practices, content standards, and academic/pedagogical trends, with the ability to drive innovation in teams and products.
  • Have experience in project oversight, including managing staff, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills, with the ability to allocate resources, manage vendors, and oversee budgets and work plans.

The pay range for this position is between$55,000 - $90,000annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
