Overview

Come and join our team at this 605-room convention center hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Our luxury hotel is located next to the Paycom Center(OKC Thunder), the Oklahoma Convention Center and across the street from the 70-acre Scissortail Park.

The property includes an all-day dining outlet (Seltzer's Modern Diner), an entertainment sports bar (OKC Tap House), specialty restaurant (Bob's Steak & Chop House), coffee shop (Park Grounds) and a retail outlet (RareBird Gift Shop). Additionally, guests can enjoy a Mokara Spa, fitness center and a rooftop pool and bar (CatBird Seat) complete with a fire pit, outdoor lawn and cabanas. The hotel offers 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space inclusive of a 20,000 square foot ballroom, 10,000 square foot ballroom, and a 4,200 square foot outdoor pre-function space that overlooks the park.



Job Description

The Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is seeking an experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager for the outlets. This position is responsible for ensuring proper training and supervision of all personnel, to delivering prompt, courteous service in a manner that complies with Omni Hotels and Resorts standards and company policies and procedures.



Responsibilities

    To follow, enforce, comply and adhere to all policies, procedures, standards, and recipes at all times.
  • Responsible for assigned shift, assisting in overall management
  • Supervise and coordinate assigned shift.
  • Assist in overall supervision of the department as outlined in manager's job description.
  • Check staff punctuality.
  • Spot check liquor pars.
  • Order daily supplies.
  • Hold pre-meal meetings.
  • Follow up on established training steps.
  • Handle guest comments and complaints. Ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Stay on the floor during peak hours.
  • Communicate with guests and receive feedback.
  • Observe, teach, and correct staff's service.
  • Monitor each guest experience.
  • Examine food preparation.
  • Examine beverage presentation.
  • Administrative responsibilities.
  • Assist manager in scheduling, forecast weekly/monthly, completing weekly payroll
  • Participate in interviewing new employees.
  • Prepare maintenance requests and follow-up.
  • Monitor food and liquor requisitions.
  • Complete other assigned duties.


Qualifications

  • Candidate is required to have at least 1 year restaurant leadership experience. Hotel food & beverage leadership experience will be considered.
  • Candidate must have proven leadership skills and must be able to train, develop, and motivate staff.
  • Ability to teach employees importance of, and how to interact with internal/external guests and courteously solve internal requests.
  • Ability to train a staff to produce high volumes of work while maintaining quality per Omni standards.
  • Ability to set priorities for the Omni team and provide feedback to others that enhances performance.
  • Prior experience managing schedules, payroll, service recovery and associate relations matters required.
  • Previous cash handling experience required.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and work in fast paced environment.
  • Must be proficient with computers.
  • Expected to have and maintain all appropriate certifications to serve and sell food and alcoholic beverages according to Oklahoma City and Oklahoma state standards.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Move, bend, push and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and place items up to 40 lbs without assistance.
  • Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Requires repetitive motion, including frequent bending, twisting and extending arms overhead.
