Role Summary

The PLM Solutions Engineer at Rivian holds a pivotal role within the Engineering and PLM team, possessing the responsibility for developing and delivering effective, user-centric solutions that align with the specific requirements of the business. Through close collaboration with Product Development and Engineering, Service Engineering, and Digital Manufacturing teams, the PLM Solutions Engineer collects and analyzes business requirements to design and implement tailored applications that augment the 3DEXPERIENCE platform's capabilities. This role utilizes programming languages and technologies such as Java/J2EE and REST APIs. This role is based at our Palo Alto or Irvine facilities and reports directly to a Sr. Manager, PLM Development and Support.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and Understand Requirements:
    • Work closely with technical and solution leads to understand project objectives and requirements.
    • Actively participate in technical discussions to understand business needs.
    • Participate in Scrum calls and provide regular updates to stakeholders on execution and highlight risks and mitigation plan
  • Analyze and Design Solutions:
    • Analyze business requirements and convert them into precise technical specifications.
    • Suggest industry best practices for better design and implementation
    • Identify dependencies with other cross-functional teams
  • Development and Implementation:
    • Develop custom applications and functionalities to enhance the capabilities of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
    • Troubleshoot, debug and optimize custom modules to ensure their reliability and efficiency.
  • Documentation and Testing:
    • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including requirements, specifications, and unit test procedures.
    • Ensure solutions are thoroughly tested for performance, reliability, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Maintenance and Support:
    • Provide ongoing support for deployed solutions, addressing user-reported issues and implementing necessary updates.
  • Performance improvement initiatives
    • Address performance issues to guarantee the smooth operation of customizations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience with 3DEXPERIENCE customization using Java/J2EE technologies.
  • Strong 3DEXPERIENCE foundation: Good understanding of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform architecture, data model, and core functionalities with expertise in Data Model Customization app.
  • Programming Expertise: Very good knowledge in Java (including J2EE), MQL, TCL and RESTful web services is essential for developing, customizing, and integrating 3DEXPERIENCE solutions.
  • UI3: Proven experience in developing and deploying ENOVIA applications using UI3 components.
  • Web Technologies: Good knowledge in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for user interface development.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively as part of a team.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • A passion for technology and innovation

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $117,200-$146,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
