Senior Accountant Consultant- Lease Accounting (ASC 842)

As a Senior Accountant Consultant specializing in Lease Accounting under ASC 842, you will be the sole individual responsible for managing all aspects of lease accounting for the company. This includes handling new leases, modifications, and terminations, primarily for domestic leases, with occasional international lease handling. You will also review and sign off on fixed asset work prepared by the Staff Accountant. This will be a 8+ month project, and will start ASAP.

Responsibilities:
  • Lease Accounting: Handle all aspects of ASC 842 lease accounting, including new leases, modifications, and terminations.

  • Fixed Assets: Review and approve fixed asset work prepared by the Staff Accountant.

  • Month-End Close: Participate in the month-end close process, including depreciation entries and reconciliations.

  • Compliance: Ensure all lease and fixed asset accounting complies with US GAAP and ASC 842 standards.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the GL Accounting team, consisting of 2 Senior Accountants, 2 Staff Accountants, and the GL Accounting Manager.

  • ERP Implementation: Support the ongoing ERP implementation from Oracle Fusion ERP to Netsuite

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

  • CPA preferred.

  • 2-3 years of accounting experience under US GAAP; public/private mix is a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience with ASC 842 lease accounting.

  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (experience with Spacebase lease software is a plus).

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
