Job Description Summary:

This position plays a pivotal role in delivering customer-centric products for matters of national security missions. Responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with Draper's vision and market demands; collaborating with multi-disciplinary cross-functional teams including engineering, business strategy, legal and other stakeholders to define product requirements, prioritize features, and drive product development initiatives; leading the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions; and engaging with customers to understand their pain points, gather feedback, and validate product concepts.

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the development of complex hardware and software products that serve critical national security missions;
  • Works closely with the Program Director and program managers to ensure product development and production roadmaps align with Draper's mission-focused strategy and customer demands;
  • Communicates product strategy and vision to stakeholders to solicit input and buy-in, proactively communicating product goals and managing expectations for delivery;
  • Oversees product development roadmaps, budget and schedules ensure all dependencies and risks are noted and, if necessary, addressed with adequate time and resources to prevent schedule delays and cost overruns;
  • Support Program Directors,, and program managers in the development of business strategies, business winning campaigns and provide recommendations for research and development;
  • Develop technical product management best practices and provide training/mentoring to program and project teams;
  • Recommends changes to improve processes and alleviate process inaccuracy and duplication.

Skills/Abilities

  • Proven product management and project management skills;
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and/or new applications * Knowledge and proven track record of achieving successful business outcomes for technology products;
  • Ability to be persuasive and a strong relationship builder both inside and outside of Draper;
  • Possess excellent communications, presentation and networking skills;
  • Ability to travel on an as needed basis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Entrepreneurial drive to grow business in the areas of R&D technology development, and/or integration of new technology into existing, fielded systems;
  • Highly creative and agile thinker able to quickly absorb technical concepts and communicate them persuasively to a non-technical audience;

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent discipline required

Experience

  • 5-7 years hardware or integrated product development experience for high tech applications required;
  • Experience serving Department of Defense or national security customers. Program experience is preferred.

Additional Job Description:
