About the Team The Tax team is a vital part of OpenAI, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations while optimizing the company's tax position. We work closely with various departments to provide tax insights and strategies that support the company's growth and financial objectives. About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled tax professional with deep expertise in tax accounting and financial reporting, with a particular focus on forecasting under ASC 740. This position presents an exciting opportunity to play a strategic role in shaping OpenAI's financial framework through advanced data management and tax planning initiatives. As a Senior Manager of Tax Accounting and Forecasts, you will oversee the strategic planning and implementation of tax accounting initiatives that support OpenAI's financial objectives and regulatory obligations. Your primary responsibilities will include managing income tax accruals in compliance with ASC 740. This entails preparing and reviewing tax provision calculations, assessing the recognition and measurement of deferred tax assets and liabilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting standards, and collaborating with auditors to support financial statement disclosures. This involves ensuring precise reporting of deferred tax assets and liabilities, and overseeing financial statement disclosures in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory standards. This role necessitates close collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance tax forecasting methods, provide actionable insights, and maintain robust SOX 404 controls. A strong foundation in tax accounting principles, financial modeling, and regulatory frameworks such as US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance is crucial, along with the ability to provide strategic guidance and valuable financial recommendations to senior leadership.
