Contract Administrator, Research and Development

Responsible for the development and execution of all contracts/ agreements in the Department of Research and Development including Master Service, Data Use, Material Transfer and Work Orders with External Partners.

The position is an integral member of the Department of Research and Development administration team responsible for all aspects of clinical research at Carilion Clinic including contracting, finance, regulatory, grant management and the conduct of clinical trials. Specifically, the duties of the Contracts Analyst include the drafting and associated activities of clinical research contracts with principal investigators and external partners. The position will liaison with legal, grant accounting administration and internal stakeholders. Will be responsible for the maintenance of proposal and funding records in database systems and prepares scheduled reports and analyses.

Education: BS in computer, healthcare or business related field or 4 years equivalent work experience required.

Experience:2 years of related experience required demonstrating:

Analytical and problem solving skills
Clear, effective communication skills
Detail orientation
Proficiency in PC

Three year's experience in contracting, project administration, or other related experience is preferred. Prior healthcare experience is highly desired.

Licensure/certification: MPV proficiency and MPV access to basic and contract modules preferred. CPC desired, but not required.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Analytical and problem-solving skills. Clear, effective communication skills. Detailed oriented. Must be able to meet high productivity and accuracy standards. High focus and concentration needed for computer, analytical, organizational and time management. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, computer/PC skills. Excellent documentation and follow-up skills required
