Overview Candidate will be responsible for supervising and leading design teams in the coordination, development, review,documentation and approval of capital and expense related engineering/design construction packages for all transmissionfacilities, regulator stations and other large gas construction projects. Candidate must ensure that these packages complywith company standards and procedures, as well as with industry and regulatory codes, standards, practices and procedures.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the training of both union and management personnel. Candidateshall also monitor the performance of design personnel and prepare performance evaluations and reviews to evaluateadherence to department and company goals, standards, procedures and methods. The candidate will schedule projectsaccordingly, to meet goals and deadlines.The group calendar, "on call schedule" and various other Share Point items will be maintained by the successful candidate. The candidate will assist in the "as-construct" process as required by company specification and Federal and State requirements. In addition, the candidate will develop and direct the activities of outside design vendors, manage outside design services contracts, and coordinate the engineering and design efforts with company personnel. The ideal candidate will also work in cross-functional teams to review the financial status of Major Gas Transmission projects and supporting the Transmission Maintenance group as needed.
Responsibilities

- Supervises Junior Designers, Designers and Senior Designers and contractors in the design of Major Project associated with transmission facilities, regulator stations and other large gas construction projects.
- Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
- Reviews and approves completed project to ensure paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Makes field visits as needed to ensure accurate design information.
- Represents Gas Engineering on internal and external committees, projects, etc.
- Coordinate project related communications to Public Service Commission.
- Maintains project status report and project and procedure databases.
- Maintains Gas Transmission Engineering Share Point.
- Oversee Historical Records Database.
- Manage Training and Operator Qualifications.
- Represent Gas Transmission Engineering for Procmx.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and two years of full-time work experience in Engineering or Operations.
Relevant Work Experience
- Minimum of two years of work experience in Engineering or Operations, required.
- Knowledge of computer applications, required.
- Supervisory experience, preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License Required
Physical Demands
- Ability to work with, and in, the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems
- Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
Additional Physical Demands
- Ability to read small print and symbols
- Must travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
- Must be able and willing to drive within Company service territory as needed
- Must be able to work additional hours and or rotating shifts as operational needs and/or system emergencies dictate
- Work in an office environment including sitting, bending and extensive computer work required
- Must respond to system emergencies
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers
