Saint-Gobain Omniseal Solutions, Digital Engineering Services group is looking for a driven, talented, and energetic Senior Solutions Engineer. The position is based out of our manufacturing facility in Bristol, RI. As a Senior Solutions Engineer, the candidate will work on and lead projects focusing on part design, process design and materials selection as they pertain to the manufacturing of critical engineered components such as spring-energized seals, metal cased lip seals, metal seals and others. The candidate is expected to lead the engineering services (include both simulation and testing) and interface with customers and our internal commercial teams. In addition, the candidate develops advanced digital engineering tools leveraging machine learning and AI. The candidate is also expected to be seen as a leader within the group that is a resource to other group members and helps to develop and train others within the group.
The candidate will be expected to lead projects in the areas of design assessment by simulation, simulation tool and method development, and simulation engineering services, which includes but is not limited to, scope definition, model construction, model analysis and debugging, model parameterization, data modeling and analysis, result processing, and presenting findings in written and oral formats. The candidate is expected to collaborate effectively with R&D and engineering colleagues, product and marketing managers, application engineers, DSMs and external customers. The candidate is also expected to play a role in proposing projects and programs vital to the R&D direction of the group. In addition the candidate will be leading on expanding our engineering services offering, to grow our testing services capabilities. Combining your strong engineering simulation and digital tools development background, you will develop and build powerful tools to explore sealing design space, leading to dramatic time savings in design, support technical team to gain insights, understand trends and make better decisions on recommending high performance sealing solutions, while developing innovative new sealing solutions and influence our long-term technical and business strategy.

Required -
BS Degree with a minimum of 12+ years' experience, or MS with 7+ years of experience, or PhD with 3+ years plus demonstrated technical judgment/accomplishments. - Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or other related disciplines.
3+ years of hands on experience with simulation, materials, manufacturing processes in an industrial or research setting.
Expertise in numerical simulation, particularly with FEM, and statistical design as it relates to part design, mechanical behavior and composites systems.
Experience with but not limited to Abaqus, Ansys, COMSOL, Python and web-based application development etc.
Knowledge of engineered polymers (blends, process, mechanics etc.)
* Must possess a body of technical work commensurate with their years of experience including but not limited to: demonstration of familiarity with mathematical models, high performance materials properties and testing, simulation tools and software, data analysis, and drawing conclusions based on a collection of basic data and interpretation, IP, Patents, and technical documents. * Demonstrated ability to give and receive constructive feedback. * Demonstrate ability to network within and out of group. * Respectful communication and ability to collaborate in a team environment required. * Demonstrate ability to network within and out of group. * Develop ability to maintain composure and organize teams in high pressure situation. * Demonstrate understanding of company policies. Demonstrate understanding of corporate structure.
Preferred-
Experience in SolidWorks and AutoCad to design parts.

Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position, which is $89,500 to $138,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $100,200 to $155,100. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

To make sure nothing is forgotten
* Identify, analyze, and provide technical solutions for critical engineered component product development problems through engineering simulation and analysis. * Identify, develop, and apply state-of-art simulation methods (numerical, analytical or closed-form) to establish thermal/mechanical conditions, tribology, leakage, fatigue, wear and aging of materials/products in application conditions. * Coordinate the roll-out of simulation engineering services by establishing cost guidelines, marketing material, case studies, communication and training material and lead on the testing service capabilities development. * Participate in TechDays and meetings with customers to promote and explain our simulation capabilities. * Lead the simulation engineering services, in particular for Space markets: * by working with DSM, marketing and customers, define projects and scope * construct, analyze and debug models, conduct model parameterization, model and analyze data, analyze and present results * follow-up on invoicing and track sales resulting from simulation services * Explore and identify suitable prediction and optimization platform with versatile visualization functions through close collaborations with universities, engineering simulation software companies, and the open source community, and work with IT to deploy it internally. * Work on model development and data generation for engineering computation programs. * Follow and evaluate new advancements in the field and actively introduce relevant new technologies. * Ability to use numerical simulation to optimize parts and components design and new manufacturing processes to expand the markets into which critical engineered solutions are sold. * Interact across a broad range of levels, expertise, and geographic regions. * Lead and participate in collaborative work and testing with local universities, outside companies and various R&D groups as needed. * Establish and shift priorities as needed to meet commitments and project deliverables. * Supervise and direct work with technicians, chemists and engineers in a dynamic environment as needed and ensure effective time management while maintaining focus on priorities and deliverables. * Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility. * Manages multiple projects simultaneously, on time, well documented and within budget to meet business and customer objectives. * Seeks out others to enhance and streamline development and decision making. * Requires minimal assistance and guidance on administrative and technical aspects of role. * The technical assistance required on only the more difficult problems. * Respect and promote a safe work environment and abide by Saint-Gobain safety, health and environment policies and identify opportunities for improving safety in the work place.
