Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct bidding/managing of air conditioning, heating, ventilating, refrigeration, piping, and electrical systems, including all items necessary in the pre-contract phase (e.g. job-site surveys, load calculations, system designs, selection of equipment, preparation, and professional presentation of sales proposals, and securing orders)
  • Act as liaison between South-Town and the customer regarding all communications, both verbal and written. This shall include periodic visits to customers, handling of complaints, and assisting in collection of payments when necessary
  • Procure and follow all leads assigned
  • Negotiate pricing with our partners for equipment and materials needed on projects
  • Attend sales meetings, conventions, trade fairs, and engineering society activities on an as needed basis
  • Estimate piping construction jobs as needed
  • Develop project schedules, plan materials, and purchase orders, ensuring work is within project scope
  • Obtain sub-contractor estimates and bids, performing project buyouts, and managing subcontractors' progress against budget
  • Prepare scopes of work for subcontractors on upcoming bids
  • Assist in resolving issues which may arise during construction projects
  • Review plans and specifications for completeness and prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) for any additional data required
  • Monitor cost on projects for variances to the estimate, and for use in preparation of bids on future projects
  • Stay abreast of current technology and construction methods in an effort to continually improve production and quality
  • Manage close-out documents, i.e. as-builts, warranty letters, start-up reports, balance reports, Operations & Maintenance (O&Ms)
  • Ensure all field employees' adherence to our health/safety standards and policies
  • Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful aspects of the project



Additional Responsibilities


  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor


Minimum Requirements

  • Current, valid driver's license
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical (HVAC/R) project management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organization, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives
  • Customer-focused with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage and motivate a team towards achieving business goals
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a track record of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions
  • Competency in conflict and crisis management
  • Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work within an environment with deadlines while having to multi-task



Preferred Skills

  • AutoCad/Revit experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction/Project Management



Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit up to eight (8) hours per working day
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, use hands and fingers to grasp and handle objects
