Supports the timely delivery of mechanical engineering work packages within cost and quality requirements for assigned project(s). Conducts prototype testing to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and collects and analyzes data for improvements. Typically reports to a manager. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.Nationality Requirements Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers. Job Description Ultra Maritime is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer II that will have a primary focus of supporting DOD Programs that may include Radar, Sensors, Sonobuoy and other development/production products. This role will be responsible for ensuring product conformance to qualified designs as well as monitoring and improving product performance. The role will provide support to the design engineering and production operations teams through the following responsibilities: * Create, interpret, review and maintain engineering documentation (Prints, Specifications, etc.) * Evaluate design and manufacturing processes through analysis and test * Perform root cause and corrective action analysis on returned hardware * Support supplier quality and manufacturing with DFM and troubleshooting * Foster technical collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines and across business functions * Produce technical evaluations and engineering assessments of proposed design and manufacturing solutions Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering discipline * 3+ Years of Experience in Mechanical Engineering * Experience in design, manufacture, and assembly of products * Proficiency in 3D modelling software (Solidworks, Inventor, Creo, etc.) * Ability to work alone and in a team environment * Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens. Desired Skills: * Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques including injection molding, die casting, machining, welding, etc. * Understanding of drafting principles and standards, including GD&T * Experience with DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and Root Cause Analysis * Experience with manufacturing documentation including PFMEA and Work Instructions * Strong technical writing and communication to various stakeholders; ability to write engineering reports and deliverables * Basic understanding of electrical and acoustic principles * Basic understanding of common engineering materials (metals, plastics, etc.) * Proficiency with basic test and metrology equipment for engineering assessments #LI-Onsite #LI-kp1 #MAR Diverse & Inclusive Employer Ultra Maritime is an equal opportunities employer that values diversity, inclusion, equity and equality.
