Your Role With Us:

Professional Fee Coder II - *This position is approximately 75% Remote. Must reside in Oregon to be considered.*

Primary Functions:

  • Medical Coding & Abstraction - Reviews medical records and accurately assigns professional codes (ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS Level II) for multiple specialties.
  • Coding Knowledge & Compliance - Maintains up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, payer policies, and reimbursement regulations.
  • Continuing Education & Credential Maintenance - Ensures compliance with CEU requirements, maintains professional credentials (AAPC, AHIMA), and provides proof of renewal.

    Background/Expertise:

    Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:

    • Certified Professional Coder - Or any of the following credentials from either AAPC or AHIMA - RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, or a CCS-P may be accepted in lieu of a CPC.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of three (3) years relevant inpatient and/or outpatient professional CPT/ICD-10 coding experience required, five (5) years preferred.

    Special knowledge, skills, & abilities:

    • Prefer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. * Demonstrates knowledge of, and compliance with hospital Safety Management Program, * Maintains confidentiality. * Attends house-wide/unit specific and completes unit competencies. * Must communicate information effectively and positively in group settings as well as one-on-one with providers. * Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize and efficiently manage time. * Ability to research federal, commercial, and organizational guidelines to provide coding solutions and education to dept. staff and providers. * Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and disease processes. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interpret medical record documentation and communicate with providers.
