In this role, you will assist with Power Solar projects through the late development, design and execution phases, by meeting the business needs and priorities and using outstanding project management standards and practices. This will involve coordination of resources and advising project activities of multidisciplinary teams and third-party contractors/consultants, while meeting project timelines, specification requirements and overall goals.

What you will do:

Provides Project management support in order to apply practical business and technical situations by:

  • Work alongside the Senior Project Manager to manage all aspects of assigned power projects, including for construction, safety, cost, schedule, and quality.

  • Accountable for coordinating the solar project engineering, execution, turnover phases and resolution of technical issues with engineering team.

  • Assures implementation of construction management processes and procedures (specifications, inspection procedures, quality assurance program, materials management program, Environment, Health & Safety requirements, cost and schedule management, etc).

  • Provides project data and inputs for various internal and external project partner reporting work. Actively monitoring the performance of the assigned project(s), using key performance indicators, and taking actions to correct adverse situations or trends.

  • Active identification of improvement opportunities and efficiencies either through contracting, design and/or execution that are to be integrated into future solar work.

  • Building relationships and collaborating with project stakeholders by understanding their needs, through early engagement in decisions and plans that affect them while addressing and resolving issues.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

  • Registered with the Province of Alberta (APEGA) as an Engineer-In-Training or eligible to register if you reside in Edmonton. Not a requirement for US based.

  • 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in the pipeline, solar or electrical utility industry, preferably with 1 or more years related to project management.

  • Working knowledge of project management methods and techniques.

  • Ability and drive to understand the scope and swiftly close out technical issues, with consultation from engineering team.

  • Effective interpersonal skills to communicate with different levels and a great teammate.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment.

  • Travel 25-50% to field locations or other Enbridge offices. Travel amount changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
