Position Summary:

Milacron is looking for a Senior Electromechanical R&D Engineer to join our team in Batavia, OH. As an Electromechanical R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for the identification, design, development, documentation, support, and maintenance of solutions for new technologies and subsystems.

Work You'll Do:

  • Create concepts, review, and approve hardware for trials and technology demonstrations

  • Design, develop, and test subsystems and functional test systems, both independently and as part of a team, from initial concept to full scale development

  • Evaluate and implement current and future technologies and requirements in electromechanical systems (solenoids, motors, drives)

  • Analyze, improve, or develop control mechanisms for specific applications or machine types and document them

  • Explore pre-gate technologies in other products and develop tool to rate technologies and integration

  • Adhere to stage gate process and demonstrated experience using analytical software

  • Ensure the delivery of hardware and software for subsystem trials on time and within budget, adopt a customer-oriented approach to tailor products to market and stakeholder requirements, and maintain a safe and hazard-free workspace and testing environment

  • Maintain knowledge of mechanical systems, pulleys, transfer stands, and integration experience with electrical systems and motors, actuators

The R&D Engineering Team consists of R&D Engineers working together to Shape What Matters For Tomorrow by partnering with customers to deliver material feeding solutions for a wide range of applications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in electrical or software engineering, or related combination of education and experience

  • 6+ years of experience within automotive, bulk handling storage systems, or electromechanical systems

  • Experience with analytical software (Matlab, Motorpro, Maplesim, Creo, Ansys, etc.)

  • Basic knowledge of NEC, CE, EMC Directives, and agile development methodology

  • Understanding of weighing, dosing, material handling systems, manufacturing systems, material flow and related processes, or industry experience

  • Understanding of remote sensing and hardware requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within an international team
