Our Automotive Team is hiring a Principal Engineer to join our Sensors business. We are looking for an engineer to help drive our business forward with expertise in sensors, a strong understanding of the future of mobility and a desire to bring new technologies to market. As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible to define and develop current based sensors for automotive and/or industrial applications. This engineer will have the opportunity to lead technology and development activities required to bring concepts into production. This will be an exciting opportunity for an engineer that enjoys developing and launching new technologies and new products to market. What You Will Do * Identifies new technologies which are deployed into new product development opportunities based on working closely with suppliers and customers * Serve as the Subject Matter Expert both internally and externally for current sensors * Work on complex issues to resolve problems by using variety of engineering tools * Understand competitive landscape and products and provide solutions to issues in creative and effective ways * Provide technical expertise into the DFMEA * Provide input to the strategy and test plans (DVP&R) to validate product performance * Perform Design of Experiments, making data driven decision through analyzing test results using statistical methods * Provide technical mentoring to other engineers Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) * Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering * At least 7 years of industry experience developing current sensors. * Expertise in current sensing electronics * Experience with simulation tools * Experience with sensor calibration, manufacturing processes, engineering processes/tools and materials * Experience in working with customers on the sensor technical requirements and applications * Experience with and knowledge of electronic components and supply base for current sensors What Will Put You Ahead * 10 years or more product design experience in developing current sensors for automotive applications. * Experience creating and maintaining engineering workplans and timelines for engineering team. * 1 or more years experience providing technical mentoring. * Expertise in ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Levels) and applying ASIL requirements At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
