Sales Manager - Central Region

Summary

As the lead for a specific geographic region, it is this individual's responsibility to provide sales leadership to direct employee sales representatives and independent sales representatives and to participate with the corporate leadership team in the annual strategic planning process. It is the responsibility of the regional manager to lead by example, visibly and consistently employing the Scanlon principles. As a member of the Leadership Team, this position must collaborate in corporate strategy, planning, and policy. This position must carry out and manage the Go to Market Strategy. When necessary, effectively represent the company in appropriate public and community activities.

Principal Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily.



  • Lead and manage a group of sales reps to meet company goals.
  • Collaborate with Sales Directors and VP on region sales issues.
  • Assist the Director of Sales in leadership development and organizational effectiveness.
  • Assist in hiring new team members.
  • Effectively train and manage the regional sales team, including staffing, planning, and budgeting.
  • Provide monthly sales estimates to director.
  • Develop, manage, and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Implement the companies Go-To-Market Strategy.
  • Implement yearly business plans
  • Achieve high level of engagement of direct reports.
  • Achieve annual booking's goal.
  • Maintain and grow project pipeline.
  • Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with regional sales team and customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs.
  • Implement and support our Business Segment strategies.
  • Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes.
  • Execute effective team member development and performance management.



Education, Experience, and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, or discipline related to our business (i.e. Landscape Architect) and five to ten years' experience. Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow. Creative, flexible, and innovative team player. Must be proficient in common practices related to selling. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Excellent problem resolution and consultative sales skills. Be an effective organizational educator and communicator. Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work environment varies as office may be home based; extensive travel required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the principal accountabilities
