JOB TITLE: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN

DEPARTMENT: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

REPORTS TO: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR

CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT

Job Summary:

Work on the mechanical engineering team supporting in the design of mechanical products for various military aircraft along with supporting in development of Vanilla a long endurance UAS.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing layouts and various mechanical drawings including modifications and/or new design.
  • Supports engineering team in various technical activities related to design and technical product development.
  • Support engineering team in maintaining BOM's, preparing parts and assemblies for production.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Perform other duties as are necessary and/or required.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's level degree, preferably in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Some entry level experience and passion in mechanical design, 3D CAD design (Solidworks) is desired.
  • Familiarity with material properties and ability to perform basic analysis.
  • Familiarity with part drawings, assembly drawings and machine shop practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to be self-sufficient.
