The Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Specialist will provide a broad range of SHE supports the Fort Worth Plant. The position will monitor compliance with SHE regulations while overseeing preparation and response for compliance audits. Further, the position will work with plant and corporate staff on the design, development, coaching, training and administration of SHE systems. In addition, the SHE specialist will assist plant management to implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, provincial, and federal SHE regulations while managing specific regulatory compliance projects resulting in systems and processes that remediate known areas of concern. The position will also focus on reducing waste generation, increasing recycling, and improving treatment systems. What's in it for you:

What you will do:
- Achieve key performance indicators (KPI) as defined for Environmental, Health & Safety.
- Lead incident investigations including root cause analysis to ensure preventative action plans are executed.
- Lead the SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) Pillar of TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) at the site to drive continuous improvement mindset in safety.
- Develop and implement systems, processes and projects to eliminate unsafe practices, reduce hazardous waste generation and increase recycling and conservation practices.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to Plant Management to ensure compliance with Safety, Health and Environment regulations. Provide technical expertise in process safety and perform process safety studies onsite.
- Provide training in both technical and behavioral safety programs to the site.
- Coordinate the SHE system throughout the Fort Worth plant to ensure training is timely and effective, incident investigations are timely and complete, audits are regularly scheduled and observations are resolved.
- Develop standard operating procedures for facility compliance with the major regulatory programs that impact Global Operations facilities, including NPRI, RCRA, Clean Water Act (wastewater, SWPPP, SPCC), and OSHA (Hazcom, injury logs, PPE, lock out/tag out, etc.) and safety contingency plans.
- Manage Environmental Management Systems including but not limited to maintaining and updating procedures, setting objectives and targets, facilitating management reviews and internal and external audits.
- Evaluate systems and implement projects to meet or maintain the increasingly stringent requirements of the wastewater and air quality permits at the plant location.
- Disseminate information regarding new regulations or SHE events of a general nature such as descriptions of incidents that may occur at the plant.
- Develop, track, and communicate SHE indicators such as safety indexes, results of government regulatory inspections, and compliance cost indexes.
- Represent the Fort Worth plant in SHE audits reviews conducted by third parties. Track the plant's response to observations and the status of resolution. Communicate trends in audit findings, corrective actions, and observed best practices.
- Be an active member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) and other multi-division SHE efforts.
- Ensure every reasonable precaution has been taken for the protection of associates, promote safety awareness, and provide on-going safety, and WHMIS training/assessments.
- Accountable for the safety programs at the manufacturing plant and two distribution warehouses.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors of Science or related discipline
- 2 years' experience in a manufacturing facility with EHS, engineering, or supervisory responsibilities
Preferred Requirements
- Advanced technical degree or MBA desirable
- 5 years' relevant work experience
- Excellent collaboration, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records
- Well-developed organization and administrative skills, project management skills/experience
- Excellent computer skills using Email, Internet, Access, Word, and Excel
- Ability to interact effectively with others, provide guidance and constructive feedback
- Understanding of chemical production operations
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills
- Must have a flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Good working knowledge of CEPA, OSHA, TDG/DOT, and NFPA
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety issues, precautions and potential hazards in and around the Plant
- Experience in other areas such as Engineering, Maintenance or Production Leadership is an asset

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range The pay range for this position is $72,700.00 - $109,100.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
