Position Purpose |
The Senior Payroll Administrator in the Arts & Science's Finance Center is responsible for the accurate review/interpretation, analysis, and auditing of assigned payroll submission requests, while providing guidance to the Associate Dean's Offices, and department administration on payroll policy and procedures. This position provides payroll analysis for informed decision-making and facilitates planning for hiring and payroll related activity to A&S divisions. Day-to-day activities will be coordinated by the Payroll Operations Manager. |

Key Accountabilities
Description |
Payroll Activity
- Processes faculty appointment and award letters for remuneration and award records.
- Utilizes systems for processing and recording payroll activity, i.e., PASF, HRMS, IRA, OnBase and IRIS.
- Processes and reconciles Departmental Chair payments.
- Processes and monitors faculty additional payments process and limits based upon Dartmouth and federal guidelines.
- Prepares invoices for clients and manages billing/receipt process for Prestigious Awards and other leave requests.
- Responsible for the accurate review, interpretation, and data entry of requests into the financial management systems.
- Triages, completes or responds to payroll inquiries.
- Serves as an I-9 Representative.

Customer Service
- Delivers services within Finance Center according to benchmarks established by management/staff team.
- Guides clients on system submissions.
- Develops training materials for entry into IRIS and PASF for Divisional Coordinators, and HRMS for ASFC staff.
- Trains staff and Divisional Coordinators on faculty appointment entry into faculty database.

Reporting and Analysis
- Generates and reconciles Reports:
- End of Assignments reports to prevent potential overpayments and to cull departed faculty from HRMS for offboarding with divisional coordinators.
- End of Assignment report with HR and Benefits for ending assignments annually.
- Active Status Report for status updates with divisional coordinators
- Documents funding commitments in ACCESS and Filemaker Databases.
- Generates monthly and quarterly reports for analyses on accounts to coordinate efforts with the divisional coordinators to associate deans for identifying updates and potential risks.
- Prepares ad hoc reporting as requested.

Development, Training, and Coordination with Staff
- Coordinates efforts of Administrative Assistant and Assistant to the Director for onboarding faculty and staff.
- Serves as resource to administrative assistant on calendaring for Directors and Associate Dean.
- Serves as resource for organizational tools for support staff (ie., Outlook, OneNote, etc).
- Develops tools for document management.
- Reconciles faculty compensation payments.
