Overview At TDS Telecom, our interns are our future. As a Field Services Intern, you will receive valuable on-the-job experience by working side-by-side with a Field Service Technician (FST) mentor. During this internship, you won't be sitting at a computer. This is a boots on the ground position that will give you an opportunity for hands-on learning. You will shadow FST mentors and assist with onsite installation, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of telecommunications products, services and equipment provided to our residential and commercial customers. You will also have direct, face-to-face contact with our customers. In this role, you will gain an understanding of how we deliver our products and services on time to our customers and provide exceptional customer service! Pay: The hourly compensation for this position is $15.00. Field Service Technicians generally work Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 p.m. local time. Flexible hours and schedules are available, including a start date. Intern Resources: Our interns partner with seasoned professionals to help with executing high-priority company projects and day-to-day operational activities. As an intern, TDS offers you:
Access to an Intern Associate Resource Group (ARG). This group's purpose is to support you by providing extra resources for development, opportunities for internal advancement, and forums to connect with other interns throughout the company. ARG meets once per month to allow you to hear from other interns about their projects, as well as leaders within our organization about their team. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The associate is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is at times loud. Benefits Associates scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week have access to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off benefits such as vacation (15 days accrued per year for full-time; pro-rated for part-time associates working between 20-39 hours), sick leave (10 days accrued per year for full-time and pro-rated for all other associates), seven paid national holidays and one floating holiday, paid parental leave (2 weeks after 12 months of employment), among others. Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability coverage is also available for associates working 30 or more hours per week and Education Assistance is available to full-time associates. Associates scheduled to work under twenty hours per week or for a limited term (i.e. interns) are eligible for medical coverage, the 401(k) plan (if 18 or older), as well as sick leave (10 days accrued per year for full-time and pro-rated for all other associates).
