About The Role
POSITION SUMMARY The Mortgage Loan Originator will have extensive contact with customers, vendors, the public, and bank staff and will interact in a professional and courteous manner and conduct him/herself in such relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall efficiency and image of the bank. This position is primarily responsible for increasing branch referrals and outside sales by generating residential mortgage loans through solicitation of individual borrowers, real estate brokers, builders, and developers. He/She is also responsible for taking residential mortgage loan applications and offers and/or negotiate terms of a residential mortgage and residential construction loan. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to speak clearly and communicate complex information in a logical and understandable manner. Capacity to maintain tactful and productive communication in difficult situations with customers or personnel. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints, either in person, over the phone, through email, or video conferencing. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents, including but not limited to general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Skilled at writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public, and respond to questions accordingly. MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
