Waste Water Treatment Technician

General Purpose:

Provide operation and maintenance support to the wastewater treatment plant, cooling tower systems, boilers and water treatment systems. Perform the above tasks in a safe manner following safety and environmental regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Inspect equipment or monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect malfunctions.


  • Maintain chemicals levels and adjustment to PH balance and disinfect water and other liquids.


  • Record operational data, meter and gauge readings on specified forms at specified frequencies.


  • Operate and adjust controls on equipment to purify and clarify water, process or dispose of sewage, maintain chlorine levels.


  • Collect and test water and sewage samples, using test equipment and color analysis standards. Record results and supply to management


  • Maintain, repair, and lubricate equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Maintain waste water treatment certification


  • Perform other tasks and jobs as necessary.

    • 7am - 5pm ---Rotating Shifts

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience



  • High School/GED, Technical/Military/College a plus. Previous waste treatment experience a must. Wastewater Operator License.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment systems, Activated sludge, anaerobic sludge, batch sludge digesting systems. Understanding of process cooling systems, chlorinated water treatment for micro control. Water Softening and RO systems, boilers, condensate return and feed water systems.
  • Wastewater Plant Operators License beneficial
