Remote position with the ability to travel to our NJ and NY locations up to 25% of the time.

Position Summary:

The Lead Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading the testing efforts for ongoing Application Maintenance and Support function within GNY IT.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the testing efforts for Production support, maintenance and enhancement of all applications within GNY IT ecosystem including Guidewire Policy Center, Billing Center, ImageRight, GhostDraft and API integrations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business requirements and functional specifications.
  • Build sprint test design and execution plans, provide estimates for testing efforts and monthly release cadence.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to define testing strategies and priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of testing activities with sprint plan and defined monthly release cadence.
  • Identify and report defects, track and manage defect resolution processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members, including mentoring and training.
  • Set up test processes and drive continuous efficiencies.
  • Collaborates closely alongside other Test Leads to ensure integrated systems consistently meet or exceed the quality standards.
  • Participate in daily sprint stand ups and plan for test execution of stories, features and epics.
  • Manage allocation and assignments and drive test progress.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining functional, end-to-end, performance and regression test suites that thoroughly cover all aspects of applications across the portfolio.
  • Build test plans and approaches for time travel testing including the planning associated towards required environments.
  • Participate in business requirements reviews and provide feedback to developers.
  • Work with business towards test design reviews, incorporating feedback and test results sign off.
  • Define test automation strategy towards meeting functional and non-functional requirements and drive the implementation.
  • Document defects where required and own them towards closure helping the dev teams on retesting and prioritization.
  • Identify the test dependencies well ahead during PI planning and monitor/track those dependencies.
  • Coordinate across delivery centers and flexible with time to drive the scope of work.
  • Participate in key delivery ceremonies and ensure that the team successfully plans and executes towards required test outcomes.
  • Report progress and manage test risks/ impediments.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related degree required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Analyst with Guidewire products and insurance domain required.
  • Minimum 4 years experienced with full implementation cycle of end-to-end insurance domain implementations required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working Test automation experience driven by Guidewire GT UI and API test frameworks required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience will tools like Jira, Git, Bitbucket etc required.
  • SAFe agile certification, preferred.
  • Guidewire associate certification with latest v10 Guidewire product, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.


Skills:

  • Experienced with Insurance domain and value chain across Policy, Claims and Billing functions.
  • Experienced with full implementation cycle of end-to-end insurance domain implementations.
  • Test automation experience driven by Guidewire GT UI and API test frameworks.
  • Implementation experience in leveraging Gatling towards performance testing.
  • Experienced in planning, design of time travel testing.
  • Experienced across multiple core integrations like data warehouse, financial, portal, rating, financial etc.
  • Understanding of GW branching and experience with associated automation suites management.
  • Execution experience in driving QE planning, design, and execution in a SAFe agile manner.
  • Implementation of quality gates implementation through GW teamcity CI/CD and associated tooling.
  • Implementation experience of SAFe agile methodologies for Integration and end to end planning and execution.
  • Understanding of test automation across test data, data platform, Guidewire, APIs, and non-functional testing.


The salary range for this role is$90,900 - $170,500. The listed annual salary range posted for this position is subject to change and may vary depending on performance, education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, demonstrated proficiency in the competencies required for the role and business needs. Base pay is just one component of GNY's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
