Remote position with the ability to travel to our NJ and NY locations up to 25% of the time.

Position Summary:

The Business Analyst will be responsible for ongoing Functional analysis, support and requirements gathering for all the core technology systems and applications needs within the GNY ecosystem.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage essential process documentation and lead project implementation of functional and technical solutions by collaborating with business partners and IT leadership to gather business requirements, provide expertise and guidance and help execute plans to enhance business capability, achieve results.
  • Process and Procedure analysis and mapping.
  • Functional Requirements documentation, Screen Specs, Mockups, Process flows, and user Manuals creation.
  • Create and maintain JIRA user story cards and documentations in SharePoint.
  • Implement training and troubleshooting.
  • Create Workflow Design and Development for Underwriting and Claims processes.
  • Coordinate and Support User Acceptance Testing and User Training.
  • Coordinate and Support UAT efforts and defect management.
  • Participate in facilitation and requirements elicitation sessions.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years professional experience as a business systems analyst required.


  • Minimum of 3 years experience with Guidewire required.
  • Guidewire certification preferred.
  • Experience in writing User stories and features required.
  • Experience in Agile way of working required.
  • Technical proficiency, with the ability to understand data flows and the flow between complex, integrated systems required.
  • Experience collaborating with Business, Development and QA teams required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.



Skills:

  • Proficient in working directly with business stakeholders to understand business processes, gather & document requirements to implement system changes that meet business needs.
  • Have good organizational, troubleshooting, and communication skills, both written and verbal, in both technical and non-technical forums.
  • Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in the business of property and casualty insurance marketplace, personal, commercial, and specialty product offerings, direct and agency distribution channels, the insurance contract, product model details, policy administration processes, policyholder billing processes, claim management processes, advisory (ISO/NCCI/AAIS) agencies, regulatory and compliance agencies and related business functions.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success in insurance company or agency / broker environments with relevant time and accountability in a functional role - i.e. agent, underwriter, underwriting assistant, customer accounting specialist, adjuster, or equivalent knowledge of insurance company operations.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to meet continuously changing priorities.
  • Able to work independently.


The salary range for this role is$90,900-$170,500. The listed annual salary range posted for this position is subject to change and may vary depending on performance, education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, demonstrated proficiency in the competencies required for the role and business needs. Base pay is just one component of GNY's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance.
