University of Virginia Health Development within University Advancement at UVA seeks an experienced and accomplished Director of Development for UVA Health Children's. Reporting to the Executive Director, Healthcare Philanthropy, the Director of Development will maximize fundraising support for clinical care programs, family-centered care and support, and pediatric research through strong partnerships with faculty and healthcare providers, patient families, community members, and private foundations. UVA Children's is ranked as the No. 1 children's hospital in Virginia by U.S. News & World Report for the last 4 years running. UVA Children's provides primary and specialty care in more than 30 specialties throughout the commonwealth and beyond, with eight pediatric specialties ranked in the top 50 nationally. Located within UVA Medical Center, UVA Health Children's includes 112 beds, a dedicated pediatric emergency department, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for infants and a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for children younger than 18. The UVA Children's Ambulatory Clinics at the Battle Building, which opened in 2014, provide integrated outpatient care in Charlottesville. UVA Health Children's is a member of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) program, a national organization which raises funds and awareness for our hospital across Virginia and in the mid-Atlantic region. Location: The UVA Health Development Office operates within a distributed team's model for work, offering a flexible and hybrid work space. While this position is based in Charlottesville, VA, qualified candidates will be considered who live within a reasonable driving distance of Charlottesville with the expectation that they would travel to Charlottesville frequently and as needed for meetings, vendor meetings, and events. All team members must have access to and maintain a secure home office environment with high-speed internet service and work collaboratively with others using a variety of technologies and tools. Shared office space is available to staff in Charlottesville, VA. Depending on the type of position and work performed, or as deemed by manager, some positions may be required to work intermittently in a shared office space. This position will remain open until filled. This is an Exempt level, benefited position. This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.
